Kleine Parys Estate 2 was developed on Klein Parys Vineyards Wine Estate, the oldest and most historic wine estate in Paarl (since 1689). The Farm was handed out to the Le Roux Family (French Huguenots) by Willem Adriaan van der Stel, the then governor of the Cape in 1689 and registered in 1692 only 40 years after Jan van Riebeeck arrived in the Cape on his small boat the Drommedaris.

A little bit about us

Klein Parys Vineyards the home of top quality wines produced by world renowned winemaker Kosie Möller. This Historical, iconic Estate situated in Paarl, in the heart of the picturesque Cape winelands.

Kosie Möller together with his wife Beatrix, twins Kosie and Nichlas, youngest Charl-Sias acquired the estate in June 2002 and has since established it as an iconic estate in the production of premium wines of the Cape.

OUR WINEMAKER

Kosie Möller is one of the most renowned and awarded winemakers from South Africa. Receiving B Sc Agriculture (Oenology, Viticulture, and Chemistry) degree at the University of Stellenbosch in 1991 his own unique style of innovation and winemaking was established by traveling extensively and gathering experience at various well-known wineries all over the world. Being one of the most awarded winemakers since 1994 out of South Africa, including the accolades Baron Philippe de Rothchild Trophy (Best Merlot, International Wine & Spirit Competition), Best Cabernet Sauvignon of the World, Canada and Best Chardonnay, Paris.

Passion, special care and personal attention from the winemaker, top quality grapes and a state of the art winery resulted in world class wines.

The Oppiestoep Restaurant

The Oppiestoep Restaurant was established in 2016 following filming of the first season, at Klein Parys Vineyards Wine Estate, of the extremely popular Oppiestoep TV Show televised on National Television Channel 144 and 145

Oppiestoep Restaurant offer a comprehensive, innovative Menu with something for all, including amongst others a Blixem Boere Sushi Platter, traditional Bobotie, Pizzas and much more in a beautiful venue with views on the City of Paarl, majestic Paarl Mountains and the Afrikaans Language Monument.

Conference/Function Venue

This 160 seater venue designed inside the Winery with a view on the Wine tanks and Barrels is extremely popular for weddings, conferences and all kinds of functions. The outside stoep, lawns and gardens is an uncompromising invitation to guests to relax and enjoy the hospitality of Paarl.

Surroundings

Kleine Parys Estate 2 allows living in Paarl, Heart of the Winelands of the Cape! Paarl takes its name from the huge granite outcrop that stands proudly on the crest of Paarl Mountain. The town founded in 1687, is the third oldest settlement in South Africa and has a rich cultural and historical heritage. The town has many fine examples of Georgian, Victorian, Edwardian and Cape Dutch buildings spread out along the twelve kilometre-long Main Street.

Nestled between the Boland Mountains offering easy access to major freeways, the town centre, endless modern amenities, museums and leisure activities as well as acres of neighbouring wine farms to explore. The famous Bergriver originates in the high mountains of the Overberg and flows through the centre of Paarl on a a stretch of 300 km to Velddrift on the West Coast. Walkways on the Banks of the River allows, to the more active amongst us, beautiful jogging opportunity and to others a mere relaxing stroll. The Wine Culture and of course enjoyment of the Product is a precious gift obtained from living in the Winelands.
